Nic,

My first suggestion is to contact the lender and explain your situation. If they can lower your payment by modifying your loan and adding six months to your current contract and adding your two missed payments onto the end, that might give you some breathing room.

In most cases, lenders would rather do this than have the vehicle repossessed. It's much less costly to them in the long run.

Your other choice, of course, is to visit a dealer and have your car appraised to see if it’s possible to sell it and close out the loan.

I am trying to get out of a bad situation. I have a $646.00/mth payment financed for 72 months. I am willing to allow someone to finace the car in their name just to get it off of my hands. Call me at 229-878-0881 for more details. I really hope you can help me. My credit is bad, but I am current on my car payments as of 11/30/09. I got into this situation because I went 25,000 miles over on a lease prior to purchasing my current vehicle. Only option I had to get out without oweing a lot of money.
