Here at Auto Credit Express, we want you to know that all bad credit car loan web sites are not created equally. In fact, many could actually damage your credit by allowing your personal information to be stolen by a hacker. Let’s take a look at one site in particular, CapitalCarLoans.com.
Promises, promises
Their first promise is a loan that is “fast, easy, secure.” The application certainly is fast and easy – mainly because the information that you give them could very well be incomplete. For instance, their application only asks for your current address and the time at that address. If you’ve been there for more than three years, no problem; but if you’ve been there less than three years, you’ll be getting a phone call, since most bad credit car lenders require at least 3 years of residence history. Suddenly, it’s not so fast and easy anymore.
What about secure? With freeware hacking programs available, almost any hacker worth his salt could read the information that you are entering on the CapitalCarLoans site as you are entering it. Why? Well, this site does not have SSL encryption technology on the application page. So much for “secure”.
Their second promise is a 98% national acceptance rate. In truth, I don’t even know what an “acceptance rate” is. It certainly isn’t an approval rate, because accepting an application and approving an application are two different things. Just because your application is accepted does not mean that it has been approved.
Who are these people, anyway?
One final point. The people who run this web site don’t want you to know who they are. If you look up the domain ownership at a site like www.godaddy.com, you will find out that it is registered to Domains By Proxy. Domains By Proxy is a company that protects the identity of domain owners and releases the information only by court order. In other words, you are supposed to share your identity and sensitive personal information with them – over a non-secure connection – while they won’t even tell you their name.
