Chrysler Announces New Car Incentives for May
by Steve Cypher on Wednesday, May 6th, 2009Chrysler offers new incentives to entice and reassure customers.
Chapter 11 and business as usual
Here at Auto Credit Express, we realize that Chrysler suffered some serious market share loss last month due in no small part to customer concerns regarding the daily onslaught of stories regarding its off-again, on-again status with a bankruptcy filing. Now that the company has finally filed and the skies haven’t fallen, marketing folks are hoping that a new series of incentives will bring skittish customers back into dealer showrooms.
“Chrysler LLC is building a new car company, and we are asking consumers to come see what we are building for you as we begin a vibrant new phase of our company,” said Steven Landry, Executive Vice President North American Sales and Marketing, Global Service and Parts – Chrysler LLC. “Consumers are telling us that the net purchase price of the vehicle is the most important factor right now, so we are pleased to introduce incentives that address what the consumer is looking for.”
New programs begin today
Beginning today, Chrysler will offer up to $4,000 Consumer Cash on 2009 model vehicles and $1,000 Owner Loyalty for current Chrysler LLC vehicle owners that is good towards most 2008 and 2009 Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles. These incentives will be good through June 1st of this year.
Invest in America
Chrysler also will continue to support the “Invest in America” program by offering up to $1,000 in Credit Union Bonus Cash for qualified members who finance their new vehicle purchase through a participating Credit Union. These incentives are also valid through June 1, 2009.
The “Invest in America” program, you’ll remember, covers more than 1,500 credit unions, that represent 40 million credit union members in all 50 states. These participating credit unions offer low-rate financing on new vehicle purchases for approved members, and the additional bonus cash of up to $1,000 mentioned above is available.
Open for business
In the incentive announcement, Chrysler went on to reassure customers: “Thousands of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge dealers across the United States are open for business and have a wide selection of vehicles with the best quality ratings in Chrysler’s history and fuel economy that has improved 73 percent compared to 2008 model year.”
The Bottom Line
With many economic indicators showing the economy has bottomed out, Chrysler is taking some aggressive steps to bring customers back into dealer showrooms by offering some unprecedented discounts on all of their new cars and trucks.
