Poor Credit Car Loans and Military Discounts

by Steve Cypher on Sunday, December 11th, 2011

If you are active duty military and have poor credit you might be able to save on approved auto loans

Military service

If you’re credit-challenged and on active duty or in some cases even in the active reserve you might be eligible for a military new car discount even if you finance it with terrible credit auto loans.

We’re familiar with this issue as we’ve been a part of bad credit auto sales for the past two decades here at Auto Credit Express. We even created a web site so that applicants can learn about tote the note dealer and loan qualifications as well as today’s topic, military new car discounts.

New cars

Because new cars are generally more expensive, credit-challenged individuals with approved auto loans usually choose a low-mileage used car.

But members of the military in this situation may find that financing a compact or subcompact new car is more affordable than they would’ve thought.

Military discounts on new cars

If you are on active duty or in the active reserve of the Army, Navy, Air Force Marines, or Coast Guard you can use the military discount offered by many car companies to lower the purchase price on an eligible new car in dealer inventory.

In most cases, you can also deduct any new car incentives on top of the military discount for an even bigger price break.

But just because you qualify for a military discount doesn’t mean you can use it when you’re financing with bad credit car loans.

Qualifying for a new car

Even if you are eligible for one of these discount programs, poor credit car loans are different than a regular car loan. With bad credit loans, once a lender determines the payment range and interest rate you qualify for, it’s up to the finance department to show you the vehicles that fit these requirements.

This payment call also determines whether a new car eligible for a military discount meets the requirements. The fact is, in some cases it will and in some cases it will not.

Finding a dealer

You also need to realize that just because a dealer in your area happens to sell new cars eligible for a military discount program doesn’t mean that dealer can help you finance a new car.

This is why we suggest that your first step is to locate a dealer that can help you.

At Auto Credit Express we help people with bad car credit find a dealer that can give them their best chance at an approval for a bad credit car loan.

So if you’re serious about getting your auto credit back on track you can begin the process by filling out our online auto loans application now.
