Kelley Blue Book (KBB) has released their latest list, this time naming their "10 Coolest New Cars Under $18,000" of 2016. Many of the cars found on the list would make excellent choices for people with less than perfect credit. Not only are they affordable, but, according to KBB, they are also cool and fun to drive.

Kelley Blue Books' 10 Coolest New Cars Under $18,000

Kelley Blue Book is out to prove to consumers that "cool" and affordable can coexist. This year's edition of their annual "10 Coolest New Cars Under $18,000" list contains a variety of vehicles that are fun, stylish and even versatile to varying degrees.

While KBB is quick to note that their definition of "cool" is completely subjective, they did list two factors critical to their decision making process: fun-to-drive and fun-to-own. Those two qualifiers helped them ensure the vehicles on this list had a distinctive "cool factor."

This year marks the third year in a row that the Mazda3 has claimed the top spot on this list. In fact, the Mazda3 has been featured each and every year of its 13-year existence.

You'll see that two of the vehicles listed (the Civic and the Golf) have a starting MSRP that tops $18,000, despite the name of the list. This discrepancy is because KBB's parameters are based on their own Fair Market Range pricing data. Under this yardstick, each of these 10 vehicles is available for purchase starting at $18,000 or less.
