Most Expensive Cars at the New York Auto Show

Starting spring with the latest reveals in the auto industry but it also offers a great chance to stop worrying about tomorrows troubles and just gawk at the expensive cars. Here are a few that caught our eye.

From Sports Cars to Bicycles

While not all of these models blew the doors off the New York International Auto show this year, they will blow the doors off your check book. So just how expensive is high end? How about scratching a check for the following:

High End Cars at NYIAS

  • Bugatti Veyron – $2.5 Million
This incredibly attractive sedan has a lot to boast about. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 in less than three seconds, and it can take your bank account from $2.5 Million to $0 in about as long. Did we mention it does 253 mph? Few places on earth will let you get that fast, but if you find one, keep an eye out for one of these rare beauties. Bugatti only makes 40 of them a year after all.
  • Koenigsegg Agera R – $1.6 Million
What does the Koenisegg and IKEA have in common? Both companies are based in Sweden, and soon both companies will have stores in New York City. Thankfully, unlike your wobbly end table however, the Agera R comes pre-assembled.
  • Porsche 918 Spyder – $845,000
You would think that a super car costing nearly a million dollars would require some exotic mixed fuel, except the Porsche 918 Spyder can get up and go just with an electric charge from your wall. Of course it has an all electric range of 18 miles, but who said super cars were practical? I mean it does zero to 60 in 2.8 seconds.
  • BMW i8 – $135,000
What started off as concept has now become reality. A 362 horsepower hybrid sports coupe with an all electric range of 22 miles. Well, we said it was reality, not that it was practical. And this will blow the doors off a Nissan Leaf.
  • Saleen 302 Black Label Mustang – $114,000
The Mustang just celebrated its 50th Anniversary, but instead of slapping a bunch of silly badges on their car, high end tuner Saleen took their V8 engine and turned it all the way up to 625 horsepower. Now THAT is how you celebrate.

High End… Bikes?

  • Smart Electric… Bike? – $2,950
Tired of traffic jams? Biking sounds like such an attractive option, if it wasn’t for all that peddling and coming into work in need of a shower. Fortunately SMART is showing off their ebike, which with its 250 watt electric motor, can help take some of the load off your morning commute.
