Here is the lowdown on Hyundai's Memorial Day military incentive:
- Who's eligible to receive the discount?
All active or retired military personnel and their current spouses are eligible to receive Hyundai's military incentive. Customers (or their current spouse) must be Active Duty, Reservists/National Guard, Veteran, or on Retired status in the U.S. Military at the beginning of the program period (May 20). Those who are serving/have served (or spouse) in the following branches are eligible for the incentive: U.S. Air Force, Army/National Guard, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, or the Reserves for any of the aforementioned branches.
- How much is the discount?
Eligible service men and women or their current spouse can receive $1,000 toward the purchase of a new Hyundai vehicle between May 20-31, 2016. In most cases, you can receive this discount on top of any existing manufacturer incentives, so make sure to ask about those. Hyundai decided to extend the program from one weekend to two to allow military personnel more opportunities to take advantage of the program. - Which vehicles are eligible?
Only certain 2015, 2016, and 2017 model year new Hyundai vehicles qualify for the benefit. You'll have to contact your local Hyundai dealer for details on which specific vehicles are eligible.
While eligible participants have to buy a new vehicle in order to take advantage of the discount, it should be noted that Hyundai vehicles come with extensive warranty coverage. All new Hyundai vehicles sold in the U.S. are covered by the Hyundai Assurance program. The program's benefits include a 5-year/60,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty, a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, and 5 years of complimentary roadside assistance.
